5 years of Barnowl Farm Shop

On Saturday the 23rd May 2025, despite the weather impacting building, and the pandemic. Barnowl Farm Shop opened it's doors for the first time in our Purpose built shop.

Having run as an honesty box shop from the garage from 2016. We started out selling raw milk and cream, College farm eggs , some local seasonal fresh produce and Springfield Kitchen jams and chutneys.

We successfully applied for a RDPE growth grant. This part funded the build of the shop, butchery and dairy processing equipment. This process took a few years to apply build and claim the funds once proof of purchase was in place.

Despite the Covid-19 pandemic, and Heidi being heavily pregnant. We opened our doors for the 1st time on Saturday 23rd May. With only a small expansion in products initially.

With the help of Rob, our Butcher John joined the team in November seeing a permanent move into the shop building (we had been weekends only until that point).

From there we have gradually increased our product range. Growing with the support of our valued regular customers and word of mouth.

Today we are pleased to work with many local businesses both as suppliers and a few as customers and the individual customers who are truly cherished.

In store we have everything you need to make wholesome meals.
